Dr. Paul Kuzel completed all of his post secondary education and training at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He obtained an undergraduate degree in pharmacology prior to gaining acceptance to medical school in 2008, and subsequently completed his residency training at the University of Alberta’s prestigious Dermatology Residency Training Program. During his 13 years of post-secondary training, Dr. Kuzel received more than a dozen major academic, research and leadership awards and served as Chief Resident of the Dermatology residency program at the UofA. He also held the highest elected resident position with the Canadian Dermatology Association (CDA), serving as Co-chair of the CDA’s Residents and Fellows Society, representing dermatology residents from coast-to-coast to their national professional organization. Dr. Kuzel’s diverse research interests have led to the publication of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and he has presented on countless occasions at both national and international dermatology meetings. His areas of research interest include various forms of skin cancer including melanoma, as well as squamous cell and basal cell carcinoma.

As medical director of Rejuvenation Dermatology in Calgary, Dr. Kuzel has a wide-ranging scope of clinical practice, with a particular interest in facial aesthetics, skin cancer, psoriasis, eczema, and acne. In regards to skin cancer, he manages the full spectrum of the disease, from annual screenings, to prophylactic management of high-risk patients, to advanced surgical management of confirmed skin cancers. He is passionate about advancing the field of dermatology through his involvement in a number of clinical trials, investigating cutting-edge new therapies for a variety of dermatologic indications.

Dr. Kuzel has a strong interest in laser and aesthetic dermatology, and has trained with some of North America’s foremost experts in cosmetic dermatology in major centres including Southern California, New York, and Boston. With a combination of this advanced training and a keen aesthetic eye, Dr. Kuzel thrives on helping each and every one of his cosmetic patients achieve their aesthetic goals while delivering beautiful, natural-looking results. He is a firm believer in the importance of combining the 3 pillars of facial aesthetics – injectables (Botox and filler), laser and other energy-based devices, and cosmeceutical-grade skincare – to attain a personalized treatment protocol as unique as each individual patient he treats.
